► In this digital age, conferences and face to face meeting are increasingly being substituted by webinars, video conferences and other forms of digital communication. There are some clear advantages with digital communication such as convenience, cost and time savings. Despite these advantages, the impact of communicating in person is much higher and is backed by scientific evidence. According to a study published in the Journal of Neuroscience, during face to face communication, synchronization of brain activity between partners occur leading to successful exchange of information. Besides, frequent eye contact during face to face communication helps build trust between individuals and produce better outcomes such as increased creativity and productivity. Hence, conferences and meetings are necessary even in a world dominated by digital communication channels.
► Asfew Conferencestring facilitates these face to face interactions between scientists, technologists and other innovators around the world through World Congress On Midwifery. It covers a wide range of topics from renewable energy to cancer and aim to identify knowledge gaps in specific research areas. Sessions formats include keynote lectures, oral presentations, symposia, workshops and poster presentations. Besides, nursing conference will serve as a platform for young researchers from around the world to showcase their work and for professional development through workshops and discussion forums.
► Although nurses and midwives constitute more than 50 percent of the health workforce in many countries, they are also affected by the challenge of shortages. Currently, it is estimated that of the 43.5 million health workers, 20.7 million are nurses and midwives. Nurses and midwives represent more than 50 percent of the current (2013) shortfall, that is, 9 million out of 17.4 million. It is estimated that by 2030, the shortage of nurses and midwives will see a modest decline (to 7.6 million), but not in the African and Eastern Mediterranean Regions, where, if current trends continue, it is forecasted to actually worsen. Currently the disease burden is increasing and becoming more complex, including with regard to non communicable, communicable, emerging and re-emerging diseases. As an example, it is projected that by 2050 the proportion of the world population aged over 60 years will nearly double from 12 percent to 22 percent. Although older people are living in a healthier manner, old age is characterized by complex health states. In addition, non communicable diseases account for 38 million deaths each year with 28 million of them in low and middle income countries, while cardiovascular diseases account for 17.5 million, cancers 8.2 million, respiratory diseases 4 million and diabetes 1.5 million.
